About Me

If there's one thing I'd like you to know about me, it's that I didn’t always approach health the way I do now.

My early life was shaped by periods of personal chronic illness, illness of loved ones, adverse events, and a deep feeling that there had to be more to health (and life) than I otherwise knew.

For years, fear shaped my relationship with health — worry, hyper-vigilance, and a sense of vulnerability in my own body.

Although I had some exposure to "alternative" approaches to healing, I didn't know then how much we were never taught about staying well.

Until I discovered a different way....

Like many women, my understanding of health has evolved through some negative experiences, curiosity, and a consistent desire to feel better in my own body and mind. Health education became super important to me in 2011 after a year long "mystery illness". Since then it's been a long process of going through some challenging experiences and constant (re)education that has lead me to where I am today....

and I'm still learning.

Life Education

I've been learning my whole life but the last 15+ years in particular I've experienced some significant changes including moving countries, living nomadically for several years, having an unexpected c-section, losing loved ones, going through another burn-out and hormone changes. Each experience and event has always brought me back to looking at what makes and keeps us healthy and what we can do if/when we do get "sick".

I know I'm not alone in saying that it was becoming a mother that changed my life as well as how I saw myself and the world.

The experience of having unexpected C-section where I felt completely powerless - to then having a smooth and successful VBAC with my second daughter - completely changed my ability to trust in my own body and mind - and how to make the best choices for myself in the face of systemic pressure.

These experiences encouraged me to look even further at how natural human processes have been negatively impacted by modern interventions. It was at this time when I really began to awaken to how much toxicity there is in modern life - and how this significantly impacts our experience(s) of life - and our children.

And through my life, I've always loved to help people. Most of my formal jobs have been in the service industry with extensive customer service experience, hospitality and a brief period of counseling.

This ultimately has lead me to where I am now with melding my skills and passions - guiding others to "deep-clean" their bodies and their lives and inspire people to realize their own responsibility (and power) when it comes to their experience of life.

Formal Education & Experience

During my undergraduate years at college (I was studying politics - welp!) I started working as an Helpline Counselor for the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (Nacoa) in Bristol, England. During my six years with this wonderful organization, I developed excellent counseling and listening skills. I learned about the importance of looking at the root causes of individual health experiences as per un-healthy family dynamics and addictive patterns. It also became apparent to me how un-healed generational trauma can impact families as well as wider communities and societies - which includes physical health as well.

With my ever-present inquisitiveness and my desire to figure out how to create positive change in the world, in 2009 I embarked upon an MSc. in Wellbeing & Human Development at the University of Bath (UK). It wasn't until I had to solve my own health conundrum in 2011 that I would truly begin to understand that in order for any of us to change the world, we have to start with ourselves.

New and unique ways of living and working ensued for me over the interim years (between 2012 and 2018). After getting married and unexpectedly moving to the United States from England in 2012, I lived and worked "on the road” up until settling in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2015.

And I kept learning.

Some of my most recent studies have been;

In 2018 I completed training to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN).

In 2020 I completed The SheTreat (de)Certification with Maya SheTreat, MD, delving into learning more about the spiritual processes of birth, life, death; consciousness; the power of meditation and magic and plant/natural medicines.

In 2024 I became a Certified Natural Health Coach through the Global Healing Institute which brings me to where I am today - helping women improve their health, naturally, through root-cause practices.

I currently live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with my human and animal family. I like to play and explore outside, especially at the beach (where I also like to do nothing). I also appreciate my home time; cooking & baking,  puzzles, drinking tea and reading (a lot of reading). I also love to travel and visit new places. But mostly, my favorite thing is continually learning - and I truly believe that it is curiosity and education that is the ultimate healer for us all.

I'm always looking for uplifting and interesting conversations, so send me a message :-)
